Moapa Valley Progress: Local Youth’s Artwork Wins Place On Clark County Library Cards

The unique artwork of a local youngster is now on exhibit all over Clark County. A colorful and cheerful design, created by Grant Bowler Elementary fifth grader Robia Grasmick, is now displayed on hundreds of new library cards, available through the Las Vegas-Clark County Library District (LVCCLD).

Grasmick’s artwork was one of only a handful of graphics chosen to decorate the new library cards. Last fall, the LVCCLD held a Library Card Design Contest which was publicized to schools throughout the region. School children were asked to submit their own original artwork for the contest. The only criteria was that it be an original drawing or design that reflects what the library means to them.
Bowler art teacher Shawn Hudgell encouraged all of his students at the school to complete an entry. Most of the kids did exactly that.
